I made the pilgrimage to Long Island to work out with the best - Mike Stefano and Ashley (who like Madonna does not even need a last name). What a great day and I'm lucky indeed to have them -sort of - in my backyard! Next to Fedorenko and his crew, I don't think there are any better coaches out there right now!

Ashley is truly a unique talent! Not only is she a motor genius herself but she is quick to pick up on what everyone else is doing and put them on the right track again. She helped me tremendously! I can't wait for Miami - Ashely is going to have such a good time.

As for Mike - I wish I were his next door neighbor! Oh the training fun to be had. If you are in the area and not training with Mike you are really missing something. It was a great day.

In this time and place where most folks still don't know what a KB is, I was blessed to learn that I live about 20 miles from AKC Coach Mike Stefano. Coach Mike and Coach Ashley, who works with him, are both great. I've had a couple sessions at their training center, and plan to have my progress periodically coached by them.


MORE BENEFITS OF KETTLEBELLS
For example, here's a few specific benefits that proper kettlebell lifting delivers to firefighters, but the same benefits can be applied to you.

A kettlebell-trained firefighter can expect to last longer on the nozzle and handle a more agressive hose advance. S/he will stay stronger and endure longer while performing structural overhaul. Increased lung capacity will extend air cylinder and breathing time, and assist in climbing many flights of stairs with a standard load.

Extreme arm and shoulder strength make easy work of heavy ladders and pulling large diameter hose long distances. The typical firefighter will also experience a much quicker recovery, and maybe most importantly, added protection from a serious cardiovascular incident or even a fatal heart attack because of his / her explosive work capacity.

By now it should be obvious what kettlebell lifting can do. Besides the extreme strength / endurance developed, overall cardiovascular conditioning, explosiveness, timing, and the ability to contract and relax your muscles rapidly (the mark of a true athlete) are all enhanced.
