Does Size (and Shape) Matter?
When it comes to kettlebells, the answer is yes. Professional Grade Kettlebells™, manufactured for the American Kettlebell Club, are high end, steel bells. All AKC pro kettlebells bells are the same size, regardless of weight.

The shape of the bell allows extended, high rep sets with as much comfort as possible. Extended sets are timed, with reps noted. This process is at the core of true kettlebell lifting, and what drives the truly amazing results. Get more info on AKC methodology.

The bell handle and body conforms to the contours of the hand, wrist and forearm. This is an important aspect of the top lifts (Jerk, Snatch, Long Cycle). Without access to a Pro Grade Kettlebell™, progress will be hindered by undo discomfort and potential injury.

Which bell is right for you?
Kettlebells are nothing like regular weight lifting. Sets are done for time and high reps with specific technique that requires a relatively light bell. Normally women will start with 8kg or 12kg, men will start with 12kg or 16kg. When in doubt, choose the lighter option.
